Check Your Version
The issue described in this article only affects persons doing payroll in version 10.2.4205. This version was available as an online update from July 8 to July 15, 2011, or you may have received it on a CD a short time later.
The version number appears in the upper right of any "main" Procare screen such as the Procare Home screen. If your version is different, or you do not see a version number at all this article does not apply to you.

Symptom
When importing hours on the
Payroll Check Calculation screen for a person who is paid hourly you may find the salary for the previous person included on the
Gross Pay tab. In other words both a salary and hourly pay are shown even though the person you are working on is not salaried. Another symptom could be that the salary for a person who actually is salaried does not import at all.
Cause
This only happens when you use the blue
Up & Down Arrows to move from one employee to the next while on the
Payroll Check Calculation screen (image below). For example you start by importing the salary to a person who is actually salaried then you arrow down to the next person, who is hourly, and the symptom described above occurs.
Solution
It's easy to avoid this situation in the following ways:
- Download the latest online update so you are no longer on version 10.2.4205. From the Procare Home screen click Utilities > Check for Online Update.
- Or, if you need to issue paychecks while on 10.2.4205:
- Do not use the Up & Down Arrows to move from one employee to the next.

- Instead calculate the checks one person at a time clicking Exit to leave the Payroll Check Calculation screen after each check is posted. Manually select the next person and click the Payroll Check Calculation button on the toolbar.
