Email Error - Secure Connections (SSL)

Print Page
When sending email through Procare using your own SMTP mail server you may encounter an error if the option to use a secure socket layer (Use SSL) is set incorrectly.

Explanation

When you choose email settings in Procare, for your SMTP mail server, there is an option to select "Use SSL". This should be set to True only if your mail server requires a secure connection. If it is set incorrectly the following error message will appear when you attempt to send email through Procare:

Procare encountered an unexpected error.
Emails sent = 0.
Server does not support secure connections.

Resolution

To correct this issue go to Configure Email Settings and change the "Enable SSL Security" property to False if your server does not require a secure connection.
