Internet Speed Test

Print Page
You may wish to run an internet speed test to determine your upload / download speed. This may be relevant to persons using the Procare Data Hosting service as a slow internet connection may cause unexpected symptoms when trying to connect to your data remotely.

What is a Speed Test?

A "speed test" is a measure of the bandwidth available through your internet provider.

What is the Recommended Speed?

Procare System Requirements state the minimum available bandwidth for hosted data is 1.5 mbs/1,500 kbps (download) and 512 kbps (upload). Wireless AirCards® (3G, 4G, etc.) are NOT supported.

Important! If classroom cameras or other devices/programs share your bandwidth you may not have enough "available" bandwidth for Procare to run effectively. Make sure you have enough total bandwidth to accommodate all your needs.

How to Run a Speed Test

Use one of the internet sites below or search for "speed test" online.

For more accurate results be sure to measure the speed to a server based in Southern Oregon such as Grants Pass, OR. If that is not available then select a server on the West Coast such as one in Portland, OR; Seattle, WA or San Francisco, CA.
