In September 2026, the state of Texas adopted new requirements for collecting and submitting child attendance records for subsidized child care. This setting must be enabled for Texas customers to collect the required attendance data. - Photo, signature, and geolocation requirements must be collected at sign-in/out. - These requirements apply to both staff and parent/guardian sign-on/out. - These requirements cannot be changed or disabled when transmitting attendance via the KinderSystems integration. - In late September 2026, we released the option to designate subsidized students for the Texas requirement. See Step 4 below. > [!WARNING] > Note > > Amazon Fire™ Tablets are not compatible with the attendance data collection required by Texas. For the KinderSystems integration, we highly recommend confirming that any devices you currently use or are considering can capture photos, signatures and geolocation. ## What Does This Mean? Attendance data must flow to KinderSystems through Engagement Functionality in Procare Desktop. If your center currently uses the KinderConnect® Extra inside Procare Desktop to log attendance, that method is no longer supported for this requirement — you will need to use Engagement Functionality instead. To address the new requirements, your center can use: - Engagement Functionality to log attendance or - a KinderSystems device ## What Method is Your Center Using? | Method | Next Steps | | --- | --- | | Our center has decided to use a KinderSystem device (provided by KinderSystems) to log attendance. | You can stop reading this article because you will need to contact KinderSystems. Get Access to Engagement Functionality in Procare Desktop** | You will need: - Engagement Functionality enabled for your center - Admin-level access | Don't have Engagement Functionality or admin-level access? It is part of your Procare Desktop subscription, and you can access it at no additional cost. Contact Customer Support to get set up. Turn on the KinderSystems SIgn-In/Out Verification (Texas Only)** | 1. Enable this setting in Procare Online to flag attendance data for KinderSystems reporting. 2.
