# Install the Procare Touch 11.6 Computer

### Before You Begin

1. **Required**: Install Windows Updates! Make sure the Procare Touch Computer has internet access then install the latest Windows Updates. (Start > All Programs > Windows Update)
2. **Required**: You’ll need your Installation Key Number to install Procare.
  1. It appears in the lower right corner of the Procare Home screen (if you already have Procare installed on another computer, this is an easy way to find the number).
  2. It can be found in your Welcome to Procare email.
  3. If you can’t find it, contact [Technical Support](/procare-desktop/docs/technical-support-policy) for your Installation Key Number.
3. **Optional**: Keyboard and Mouse - Although the touch computer does not come with a mouse or keyboard, you may wish to connect your own USB mouse/keyboard for installation and setup purposes. Or, use the Windows on-screen keyboard instead of a physical keyboard.

### Installing Procare

If you are using the Procare Cloud service, download/install the software from the [Installing the Procare Cloud](/procare-desktop/docs/installing-the-procare-cloud-service) page.

If you are installing on a local computer/network (you are not using the Procare Cloud service):

#### At your main computer (server):

1. If you haven’t already done so, install Procare on your main computer (server).
2. Install the latest Procare online update at the main computer. From the Procare Home screen go to **Utilities** > **Check for Online Update**.

#### At your Procare Touch computer:

1. Ensure your Procare Touch Computer is connected to your network so it has access to the main computer. **Please Note**: You may need assistance from a local computer technician.
2. Click [here](https://s3.amazonaws.com/cdn.procaresoftware.com/v10/setup.exe) to begin installation a. Select **Run setup.exe** (this may appear at the bottom of your screen). b. Click **Yes** to allow Procare to make changes to the computer. c. On the Quick Setup screen, select **Client Computer/Workstation** as the role for this computer.

IMPORTANT!

When the Create Additional Shortcuts popup displays askeing if families will be checking in, select **Yes. This computer will be used as a Procare Check-In station**.
