# Sort and Filter

Many Procare screens such as the [Daily Meal Tracker](/procare-desktop/docs/meal-tracker-overview) allow you to sort and/or filter information based on the columns displayed such as Primary Classroom.

### Sort by Category
To sort by a category such as Primary Classroom click the heading at the top of the column. Items are sorted in alphabetical order. Click a second time to reverse the order.

### Filter by Category
To filter means to include only certain items, for example only include children in a certain classroom. Hold your mouse in the upper right corner of a column heading like Primary Classroom. If this column allows for sorting a tiny filter icon (looks like a funnel or coffee filter) appears. Click the funnel and choose the category to include.
