What is MarcoPolo?
MarcoPolo provides educators with a foundational pathway to support classroom quality, child engagement and family connections. Using a three-pronged approach, educators are given the training and tools to elevate classroom quality and engage children on their learning journey. MarcoPolo’s innovative, high-quality content, combined with teacher tools, activities and discussion questions, provides educators with what they need to elevate and extend learning beyond classroom walls.
Integrating with MarcoPolo
- When creating or editing a lesson, staff can use the MarcoPolo integration to search and link applicable resources from the MarcoPolo Learning library.
- When browsing the MarcoPolo Learning library through Procare, users can search for content by Topic, Subject Area, or Curriculum.
- Teachers can find and access the linked MarcoPolo resources when viewing the lesson activity in the Procare Child Care mobile app and web portal.
How to Enable the MarcoPolo Integration
Navigate to School Settings > Marketplace.
Locate the MarcoPolo Learning section and Click Connect.
Complete the payment details and click Subscribe.
How to Add MarcoPolo Resources to Lessons
To integrate MarcoPolo into your lessons, follow the steps below:
- Navigate to Learning > Lesson Plans.
- Click All Lessons, then select Create Lesson or select an existing lesson.
- Locate and click the Add MarcoPolo Learning button.
Searching and Filtering
When you click Add MarcoPolo on the Create Lesson page, a user-friendly popup appears to help you dive into a wealth of videos, guides, and images.
Scroll through pre-populated topics or refine your search using drop-down controls. Choose from specific Topics, such as Insects, Space, or Music. Filter from broader Subject Areas like Math, Science, or Literacy. Or browse a list of content that fits your school’s Curriculum, such as HighScope, Frog Street, Creative Curriculum, Learning Beyond Paper and more.
Previewing and Attaching Material
Effortlessly preview content before attaching it to your Lesson Plan by clicking the material name (blue hyperlink text). Select videos or additional material with a checkbox and click Add to Lesson. Your selected materials will now be linked to your lesson for easy access within the classroom.
Please Note: Learning Materials are exclusive to teachers in the classroom and are not currently shareable with parents.
Once your material is added to the Lesson Plan, you can add more by clicking Add MarcoPolo Learning or remove material by clicking the X.
Adding Lessons to Weekly Plan
Before adding lessons to your Weekly Plan, we recommend selecting the desired room from the "All Rooms" drop-down.
If you are a staff member with an assigned room, by default, your assigned room should display. Otherwise, if "All Rooms" is used, your weekly lesson plan will apply to all rooms.
Once the appropriate room is selected, use the Add Lesson button to view all available lessons. Add as many lessons as needed for that day by clicking Select, then click Choose to add them to your Weekly Plan.
Please Note: At the bottom of the Choose Lesson list, there will be a Create New Lesson link, which will direct you to the Create Lesson form and not save any lessons you selected for the day. Please save any selected lessons prior to creating a new lesson.
Accessing MarcoPolo from the Classroom
Once material is attached to Lesson Plans, teachers can conveniently access MarcoPolo learning materials via the Procare Child Care Mobile App.
From the Daily Activity page, click View Today’s Lessons at the bottom.
Access the full lesson details by clicking the Lesson Title. Please Note: MarcoPolo materials are not shareable with parents at this time.
All MarcoPolo content is easily viewed from within the lesson under the MarcoPolo Learning section.
