Message Parents

Article Summary

Send and review messages from parents, send texts and Kiosk messages to parents

Communicate with parents via the Procare website and mobile app.

Send Messages

  1. Navigate to Parent Connection, then click Messages.
  2. Select New Message in the top right.

  3. Compose your message, then click Continue.
    a. Use the Send as Emergency SMS option to send as a text message. Text messages have a limit of 300 characters and parents cannot reply, but can do so from the mobile app's Messages section. Your account will show your text limit. If you would like to increase the number of texts please contact Procare support for pricing.
    b. Show at Sign In-Out Kiosk will display the message on the Sign-In Kiosk the next time the parent enters their pin. If you need to compose several kiosk messages for the same parent, they will display to the parent in the order they were entered into the system.

  4. Select the student(s), then click Send Message.

Reviewing Messages

Once a message has been sent or received, you will see the conversation listed on the Parent Messages page.

Please Note: Unread messages will have a magenta circle next to the date and time (see below).

After selecting a conversation, you will see the message thread and quickly be able to identify which parent has responded. The sender can delete their messages by placing the mouse over the message and clicking the trash can icon.

Multifamily Messages

For split families or any family that chooses to have the messages private from the other parent, you will see both parents' names listed at the top of the screen (Blue Circle).

Staff members will be able to have private conversations with each parent by selecting the tab at the top of the screen that corresponds with the parent they wish to communicate with.

Please note that by using the New Message option located in the upper right hand corner of the messaging screen, this message will be sent to both parents.

Student Details within Messaging

A “Student Details” card is located in the Message thread. While messaging parents/guardians you can quickly look up the room a student is signed in to and access parent/guardian contact information without ever needing to leave the message thread.
