Can I upgrade my Procare Touch from Windows XP?
Yes. Contact Support for upgrade options. Do not attempt to upgrade the operating system on your own. Although it looks like Windows XP, Procare Touch Computers (shipped before April 17, 2012) actually use a special operating system called Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 (WEPOS).
Due to a Microsoft Security Advisory (March 2015), Procare cannot predict how long it will be before Windows XP, including older Procare Touch computers, is no longer viable. We strongly recommend replacing these computers as soon as possible. See: XP Security Issues.
Does my Procare Touch Computer run Windows 10?
All current Procare Touch Computers ship with the point-of-sale edition of Windows 10, known as Windows 10 IoT. See chart below for prior units.
Operating System | Began Shipping |
---|---|
Windows 10 IoT 2016 | August 2016 |
Windows Embedded POSReady 7 | April 2012 |
Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 (known as WEPOS) | All units shipped prior to April 2012 |
What are the Touch Computer specs and mounting bracket dimensions?
See the Procare Touch Specifications Sheet for details including a wall mount template.
