Adding Authorized Pickups and Carpool Pickups

This article applies to Online version only (without Desktop). Engagement Functionality customers can enable parents to update family records via MyProcare.

There are two types of pickups you can set up:

Authorized Caregiver Pickups: Non-parent individuals (e.g., grandparents, nannies) allowed to pick up a child. They get a unique PIN for pickup/drop-off but do not have access to the student’s account.

Carpool Pickups: Parents/guardians already listed in the system who can use their existing PIN to pick up another child at the same school. They cannot access the authorized student's profile.

⚠️ Carpool authorizations apply only to the individual child. Siblings must be authorized separately.

Below are the directions to set up both authorized pickups and carpool pickups:

On the Website:

1.. Go to My School --> Students.
2. Click on the name of the student.
3. Scroll down to the "Additional Authorized Pickup" section and select "Add Pickup."
4. Choose Caregiver (and enter their name) or Carpool (search through existing parents).

Caregiver: A Caregiver is a person authorized to pick up a child. When adding a caregiver, you can specify their relationship to the child and enter a contact phone number.

  • Caregivers appear on reports as authorized pickups.
  • They can also be designated as Emergency Contacts, in which case they will display on the child's emergency contact card.

Carpool: A Carpool contact is a parent or guardian already listed in the system. Type in the name to search and select from a list of available contacts.

  • You can only select from existing contacts. No additional editing is available for this entry.

Additional Notes

  • You can allow parents to edit pickups by enabling permissions in School Settings on the website. Parents cannot add carpool pickups via the mobile app. They must log in to the website. Click here to see what the process looks like on their end.

Adding Authorized Pickups in the Procare App

Carpool is not available in the app. However, you can add authorized pickups (Caregivers) by following these steps:

  1. From the Home screen, select the child’s name
  2. Tap Edit (top-right corner)
  3. Tap + Add Pickup
